Homemade cheese flan recipe

The cheese flan is an easy dessert that we all probably know and have eaten at our grandmothers' house.

It is a very familiar recipe that although we can find it as a dessert in many restaurants, nothing like the version, precisely, homemade.

It is prepared with great ease as you will see below. And I warn you: it is impossible to eat only one serving.

This recipe is prepared in 2 parts, the flan itself, made with cheese, milk and Eggs and caramel, which is the brown coating with a very sweet flavor and an addictive smell, is prepared only with sugar and water.

  • Bathe the bottom and sides of the mold where you will prepare the flan. Reserve.
  • Place the condensed milk, the evaporated milk, the cream cheese that should be be at room temperature, eggs and vanilla in the blender jar. Mix until a homogeneous consistency is obtained.
  • Pour the mixture into the caramelized mold. Place the mold inside a baking dish in a bain-marie. Bake for 1 hour or until you insert a knife near the center and leave clean.
  • Remove from the oven and wait for it to cool to room temperature, refrigerate for several hours. If you can, let it sit overnight in the fridge.
  • When you go to serve it first slide a knife around the edge of the mold; and then shake the flan delicately to loosen it.

    This is achieved depending on the type of mold. You can be creative, there are molds with many shapes ranging from individual pieces, such as the image, to large containers of different sizes.
